Daniel Anderson – Emergency Preparedness for College Students

Strategic Organizational Communication

Emergency Preparedness for College Students embodies a website and issue book developed by Daniel Anderson, a communications major emphasizing in Strategic Organizational Communication.

The purpose of the project is to help college students learn more about emergency preparedness, bring awareness of the lack of emergency preparedness among college students, discuss the issues involved and propose possible solutions. The website and issue book are viable resources to students because of the valuable information contained within them and the accessibility of these media to the average college-age group.

The extensive data and research are featured in the project in ways that are easy to understand and applicable specifically to college students. Both the website and issue book include credible and useful information gathered through strategic-communication processes such as professional interviews, in-depth research, survey building and data collection.

The website is easily accessible to students as much of their schooling these days is often digital. The issue book provides the same resources in a condensed version that is made to be easily shared in a physical setting.

The development of the project, website and issue book is a reflection of fifty-plus hours of work. This time frame included time spent in four main sections: initial research, compiling research, data collection/compilation, and final product development. The completion of each section resulted in two quality resources that display the final result of Daniel Anderson’s ongoing development as a communications professional.
