Marley Titus – Drink Factory Social Media

Project Purpose/ Overview

For this project, I ran the social media page for a local soda shop business, The Drink Factory. My goal was to help them to grow their business through posting stories and posts on the Instagram page. I worked closely with the owners and employees to create unique and authentic posts and reels and watched the analytics of the posts to assess where there was room for improvement. I worked to create content that exceeds expectations and that is pleasing for potential customers. I tracked new followers, likes, comments, shares, and verbal suggestions from customers at the business. I created regular posts as well as reels, and make the content and captions as interactive as possible.

The Project

Challenges

My biggest challenge throughout this project was that the building itself and the surrounding area is not aesthetic, which made it difficult to get good photos and videos for posts. It required a lot of creativity and thinking outside the box to make the posts look the way I wanted them to.

Project Process

My process throughout this project was to take a few days each week to brainstorm and shoot content, followed by a day or two of editing and planning posts. This worked well for me to make sure that I had the content for each of my posts and that I knew when they would be posted.

Overview of Experience

This was a great experience for me. I was able to learn about overcoming challenges and working with small businesses. It was stressful, but I was able to grow my skill set from the challenge.

Insights

As I said, I was able to learn a lot about working with small businesses as well as what working as a social media manager would look like. I was able to grow my skills and I became aware of some things I might do differently in another similar opportunity. I would take more time to come up with post ideas, and I would spend some time creating an aesthetic area to shoot content in, to name some ideas.
