Cami Bennett- “Once in A Lifetime” Wedding Video

Cami Bennett – Video Production – Winter 2022 Senior Showcase

PROJECT SUMMARY

“Once in A Lifetime” is a 7-minute professional wedding video focused on the Rice’s “once in a lifetime” day. As a future professional wedding and event videographer, I needed to challenge myself with my senior project and make sure it was something that would benefit me in my future career and my portfolio. This is my first wedding video ever to be done, and I want it to show my best skills. Pre-production took place first and foremost as I met with the couple, and we began to go over everything that would happen on the wedding day and what the expectations were. We made plans to spend some time before the wedding day to capture some bridal shots to possibly use in the video as well. The overall look of the video will show some rustic film parts, but it will also have a modern take. The music was chosen by the couple with my approval and once licensing was all figure out.  The footage of the video is captured in San Diego, California at the temple and the reception venue.

To be fully prepared for making this video my best one yet, I spent about 10 hours watching training videos and practicing with them. I used “Full-time Filmmaker” to be trained specifically in wedding videography. On the big day, about 14 hours of driving to and from venues and capturing the footage of the wedding took place. Then came the editing. Editing is where I spent the most time to achieve a professional feeling that not only represented the wedding day for this couple, but also would help benefit my portfolio and show off my best skillset.  A lot of work went into this project, in fact 50+ hours, but the benefits that have come from it have made all the hard work worth it.
