Welcome to the Herd!
The heart of this project is celebrating the connection to the ‘The Creator’ that can be found in ‘The Creation.’
The overarching symbol of this brand for ‘Outdoorsy Disciples’ was determined by combining two symbols. The lamb, or lost sheep, is often portrayed in Christianity, and the mountain goat is associated with hiking and the outdoors. The Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep combined these two elements, highlighting a crucial aspect of the brand identity;
“We’re all a little lost,” at times we may innocently step off the trail like a playful lamb, while other times, we may purposefully push up the wrong side of the mountain like a stubborn goat. Either way, The Good Shepherd seeks after both, He finds us right where we are, guides us each at our own pace, even carries us at times, and joyfully celebrates our arrival home.

Creating the Shepherds Trail brand included sticker design, t-shirt design, Etsy shop design, product photography, as well as some social media content creation.

Design Progression – I initially tried different styles before determining the sketched style shown above worked best. The image below shows the progression from left to right of my initial design to the final design.

Instagram Content

Instagram Content will spread awareness of the brand identity, and welcome others to “the herd” before the official Etsy shop launch.

At the trails end…
This project has taken me on a beautiful path, where I’ve been able to learn and experience new things through the process of developing a niche brand.
If the Shepherds Trail brand speaks to you, feel free to join the herd and watch it grow on Instagram @shepherds.trail
