Project Purpose
Creating an awareness booklet for my client will first, help educate the public about the important role that doulas play during pregnancy and childbirth. Second, an awareness booklet builds trust with potential clients. Clear messaging and consistent communication demonstrate professionalism and reliability, which can reassure expecting parents that they are making an informed choice when hiring a doula. Thirdly, a public relations plan can address issues regarding access to doula services, ensuring that people from all backgrounds understand the benefits.
The Project
Over the course of this semester I have worked on a Public Relations awareness booklet for my client YourBeautifulBirth. Additionally, I rewrote the body copy and client questions on the website. I also wrote a social media plan, and a S.W.O.T. (Strengths, Weakness, Opinion, Threats) analysis. In my booklet I included:
- Introduction
- Goals and Strategies
- Target Audience
- Client Demographics
- Client Type
- Communication Vehicles
- Positioning
- Challenges
- Evaluation Plan

The Process
I began this process with a S.W.O.T. analysis and meeting with my client. Together we discussed the brand elements, identity, and values. Through this we were able to identify and understand the audience demographics. After discussing, I began creating the booklet around the key messages. Additionally, I began working on rewording the website and client questions. I created a social media plan, goals and strategies, positioning, and an audience analysis.
This project has been a privilege that allowed me to gain insights, and refine problem-solving skills. This experience lays a strong foundation for my future career. Through actively engaging with a client, I am better equipped to navigate professional challenges, adapt to different perspectives, and contribute effectively to the field of Public Relations.
