Boss Feeds & Taurus Social Media Update

By Morgan Selander

Project Purpose or Objectives

This project aimed to build a stronger online presence for Boss Feeds and Taurus by creating a consistent social media strategy. I wanted to help both brands grow their audience, connect more with their customers, and increase interest in their products through engaging and informative content. This also included figuring out what kinds of posts actually work, and adjusting the strategy based on results.

The Project

I created and managed a social media content calendar on Canva for both Boss Feeds and Taurus. Each brand had two posts per week on Facebook and Instagram, which included:

  • Product spotlights
  • Tips related to the ag industry
  • Customer success stories
  • Fun, interactive posts like polls and quizzes
  • Highlights of promotions or behind-the-scenes moments

My favorite project was creating a promotional video ad that was used both for a big outdoor drive-by screen and Facebook advertising—it was exciting to see something I made get shared in such a big way.

This post was really fun to make, and it ended up getting 1,500 views and three link clicks to the website, which felt like a big win, especially considering there was almost no online engagement with the company before this campaign started.

Challenges Encountered in Completing the Project

One challenge I faced was managing content for two different brands at the same time—each with its style, audience, and message. It took time to understand their voice and make sure everything felt authentic. I also ran into a few bumps with getting quality photos or testimonials on time, which meant getting creative with the content I had. Finally, I had to figure out the best times to post and what types of content performed well, which took some trial and error.

Project Processes

The first step was researching both brands and their audiences to figure out what kind of content would connect with people. From there, I created a content calendar with weekly themes and designed visuals using Canva. I wrote all the captions to match each brand’s voice and scheduled everything through Meta Business Suite. I also took time to clean up each page, removing random, off-brand posts and updating photos so the overall look felt more professional and consistent. Every couple of weeks, I checked the analytics to see how posts were performing and made tweaks as needed, like adjusting post times or trying out new content formats.

Both Boss and Taurus had around 200 followers each on Facebook and no posts for two years. I was tasked with updating the pages, making them look professional, and starting a new Instagram for Taurus.

An Overview of the Experiences You Had

This project helped me grow. I got a lot of hands-on experience running social media for real businesses and learned how to be both creative and strategic. I enjoyed seeing the results of my work, especially when engagement and reach started improving. It was also rewarding to find a rhythm between planning ahead and being flexible when things didn’t go as expected.

What Insights or Takeaways have you gained from the Project?

The biggest thing I learned is that social media isn’t just about posting—it’s about connecting. People engage more with content that feels real and helpful, not just promotional. I also realized how important it is to track performance and adjust based on what’s working. Overall, I gained confidence in managing social media for multiple brands, staying organized, and adapting when things change.
