Communication – Public Relations

For my senior project, I did a PR campaign for the women’s wrestling program at Madison High School. Even though women’s wrestling is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, there are still a lot of concerns and misconceptions from parents and young athletes, mainly around safety, training with boys, and whether the sport is “for girls.” My campaign, Grow Women’s Wrestling, was created to address those concerns directly and help the program boost interest and participation.
While working on this project, I met with my client and also reached out to parents to hear their genuine questions about their daughters joining wrestling. Using all the feedback I gathered, I created a parent booklet that outlines Madison High’s values, explains the girls’ program, and answers every common question parents brought up. I also produced two additional deliverables: a feature article on the rise of women’s wrestling and the benefits it offers, and a social media mockup promoting the summer wrestling camp that Madison wrestlers attend every year.
I was able to bring all of these pieces together for the senior showcase, and people loved learning about how fast women’s wrestling is growing and how my campaign can help support that momentum. Big shoutout to the coaches, parents, and athletes who helped me throughout this project. They were the best people to work with
