Senior Project

Have you ever wondered why you missed certain events or places to visit here in Rexburg? And it isn’t until later that you find out, you would have had no problem attending, but you didn’t know about it. Frustrating right. With this issue in mind and from my own experience, I have come to know that Rexburg has many great things to offer, and sometimes, as students, it can be really easy to look over the history of Rexburg and its culture; In fact, growing up as a Mexican-American I was taught my roots and culture are so valuable, for that reason I shoud appreciate it as such. As a consequence, I asked myself where or what the Rexburg Culture is about.
Partially, we students could do more proper digging to find the right information about certain events and places, but often, the way the information is spread and promoted isn’t the most efficient. Especially with everyone’s attention span being so short and prone to getting distracted with the million tasks we tell ourselves we will finish. Accordingly, the hook and strategy behind any communication-marketing campaign is essential. Hence, I knew I had to connect with the Rexburg City Hall to be able to target not only the issues I was seeing, but also help with other local issues that would help the community unite and remember with proper appreciation what deserves to be commemorated and visited more often. Having that in mind, for this project, I focused on two things: The Legacy Flight Museum and Flood 50, which is commemorated yearly.
