Designing Confidence For Teens

About Me

I believe that communication is the foundation of life. It is woven into every interaction, every relationship, and every experience. Communication gives the silent a story and the voiceless a platform. This is why I love what I do.

I am a senior at Brigham Young University-Idaho and will graduate in December 2026. I am majoring in Communication with an emphasis in Strategic Organization and a minor in Public Relations.

For my senior project, I created a guide for teenage girls to help them build self-worth. When I was younger, I struggled with my own self-image, and I didn’t know how to change or where to go for help. I can attest that low self-worth affects everything in your life. You choose different choices, have different friends, and think about yourself differently because you don’t feel like you’re worth anything. I was shocked when I realized that I wasn’t alone. Currently, 85% of people feel like this in America. So many of those are teenage girls. There are resources and tools that can be used if one knows where to look, and I wanted to make that easier and more accessible.

Project Summary

My booklet is based on research on various aspects of self-worth. Every tip and tool that is given has been proven to build self-worth in teenage girls. I included reflection questions and mini challenges to give girls an opportunity to interact with the booklet and have a safe place to reflect. At the end of the booklet, I included a QR code placeholder that will take girls to an online community designed to uplift and remind them of their worth, just because they are them.
