My name is Jose Velazquez, and for my Senior Project, I created a music video about overcoming negativity. I am a Communications Major with an emphasis in Video Production. I wanted to showcase my skills of being able to direct and edit a professional music video.
Pre-Production:
After writing the lyrics, I started scripting out how the video would play out. I wanted to show an internal struggle through symbolism and visual storytelling. When the script was ready, I started storyboarding the narrative side of the music video. I didn’t spend too much time on storyboarding the performance side because I figured that for the performance side, we would film at a couple locations and I would just perform the whole song. There was not much detail needed for the performance side.
