Jacquelyn Birkeland: The Mom’s Survival Guide to College eBook

Project Summary

I started school at BYU-I as a mom of an 18-month-old, and I’ll graduate with a 4-year-old and a 4-month-old. Being a mom is such a light in my life, but going to school and receiving a degree has also been very important to me.

For this project, I decided to combine the two things I have loved and work hard to achieve over the past few years: being a mom and earning a degree.

I have written and designed an ebook called The Mom’s Survival Guide to College. It has six sections of tips and one page of “quick tips” at the end.

My work to accomplish this has included extensive interviews with other women who either earned or are earning their degrees while also raising young children. In addition to the interviews, I have spent time researching these topics to provide evidence supporting the claims. The purpose of the tips is to provide moms with ideas for balancing school, being a mom, and all the other things they are doing.

My biggest goal is to let other women in this position know they aren’t alone.
