The Circle of Love is a bridal staple in the heart of Rexburg. I reached out to JC Weber, the Circle of Love’s owner, earlier this year to ask if he had anything he needed help with. I helped do some PR writing for the Circle of Love during the spring, but this fall he mentioned that he could really use help redesigning his website’s homepage.
I chose this website redesign as my project to have an opportunity to learn more about website building and also to hone my digital skills. Though my emphasis is PR, the companies I’ve had the chance to work with so far have all asked me for help on their website and digital platforms, and I thought this was a great way to focus in on those skills.
In 2015, JC had a friend create a WordPress website with the Avada theme for him, but it had been 7 years since it was created, and the website was outdated and no longer consistent with his business’s style. Additionally, JC wanted the page to be more focused on getting potential customers in the physical store than buying online.
This project was a learning process that involved a lot of research, trial and error, and communication. In the end, I created a new homepage for mycircleoflove.com, as well as a new header, and updated plugins, pages, and text. I also created a video and a short article for JC and his team to reference, so they can easily make their own changes to the website.
