- Project purpose or objectives. The purpose of this project was to improve the online presence of the business Spring Creek Management. By gaining a following, posting the available units, and connecting with other local businesses or families in the area, more people would lease from Spring Creek Management.
- The project (samples of the work produced or the final product). The project took consistent work. Posting. Following others. Commenting on posts. Coming up with creative content. Final Product Instagram Photo Picture 2, Final Product Instagram Photo. My original goal was to reach 100 followers by the beginning of April. I’m pleased to say I surpassed my goal with reaching 123 followers (and counting). I made a lot of listings and postings and tried to engage with the followers on the account as well as do significant outreach to other local businesses and local people.

- Challenges encountered in completing the project. Some challenges I had in completing the project mainly stemmed from getting the account up and running off the ground. At first it was slow. I didn’t know how to gain a following. Luckily, I had a friend who was able to take a look at my page every couple of weeks and give me feedback. Together, we discovered that posting more frequently and often would raise my following. It did. Another challenge that occurred, and still is yet to have a solvent, is the very minimal interaction people make with the posts. Sure, I’ve gotten a few Direct Messages with inquiries on the available properties (people asking if pets are allowed, if the properties are still available, etc). Yet, nobody has commented on a post yet and very few people “like” them.
- Project processes. A lot of the processing that happened behind the scenes happened through Canva and Gmail. I would take images from the business, Gmail them to myself, and upload them. Often, I would create a cover photo or an edited photo on Canva. This made the feed and aesthetic of my page have more depth and become more pleasing to the eye. By adding text, elements, colors, and fitting it all to the theme of the page, it made Spring Creek’s presence on Instagram more trustworthy and admirable. I also created Reels directly using the Instagram App. They included popular music, trending templates, and information about the company.
- An overview of the experiences you had. Overall, I had a great time managing the Instagram account for Spring Creek Management! I liked it so much, I’ll continue to do it. I learned the ropes of Instagram, helped some individuals apply for specific units they found through Instagram, and did something helpful for the owner of Spring Creek Management. Seldom did I feel overwhelmed or negative about the project. Mainly, I felt a sense of accomplishment and felt that it was fun.
- What insights or takeaways you have gained from the project. The two main things I learned from this project, as it relates to promoting businesses on Instagram, are that you need to post frequently and you need to follow other people consistently. Social media isn’t a “one-and-done” thing. It takes a lot of focus throughout the week. Though it may not take large chunks of time, it takes daily effort and thought towards the account. As I changed the way I went about this project to reflect those two things I learned, I found the online presence of Spring Creek Management became larger.
