Overview:
My senior project was for a local business in Rexburg, Idaho called Crispy Cones. Crispy Cones was founded in 2018 by BYU-Idaho freshman, Jeremy Carlson. The business is currently on its third season. For my project, I wanted to help Crispy Cones solidify their brand and increase awareness of their product on social media. I designed a public relations campaign booklet for Jeremy and his team to refer to that includes many things including strategies and tactics, a timeline, and a budget for ad spending. I also created multiple promotional videos as part of my video production module.
Content Creation:
Throughout my project, I created all of the content for their social media platforms through both photo and video and made engaging Instagram story templates for their followers. The content I created was high-quality with a clean white or black background to make an aesthetic Instagram feed. I followed a weekly schedule for posting and content creation. I also met with the client often throughout the semester and even met with other business leaders in different states over Zoom calls to discuss ways to improve our business. As part of the PR plan, I wrote a feature article about the owner, Jeremy Carlson, and how he started his business. Attached in the PR plan is also a pitch letter that can be sent to media outlets to get more coverage on both the business and the article itself.

Measurement:
From the beginning of May to now, the company has gained approximately 696 new followers. The new implementation of posting strategies has had a huge effect on the amount of traction we get on social media. Paid advertising for the target audience has also helped a lot. If the business gained 696 followers over the course of 8 weeks, in 25 weeks of the entire season, the business has the potential of gaining 2,175 new followers which would meet our goal of gaining 2,000 new followers by the end of the season.
