Social Media Content Creation BYU-I McKay Library

Project Summary

A couple of years ago, I had the incredible opportunity to do my internship with BYU-Pathway. I worked in the social media team creating daily posts for their different social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Before working with them, I never knew of the creative skills I had. After working for them for a year, I concluded that I love creating and designing vector images for social media.

For my Senior Project, I have decided to work with the BYU-Idaho McKay Library and create social media content for their social media accounts, especially Instagram. The goal of this project is to help the BYU-I McKay Library increase their views, interactions, shares, likes, comments, and so on even more.

My idea for this project was to create something new, something different from what they have created in past semesters. My goal is to help the social media team reach new views, and followers in the upcoming semesters.

For each one of my designs, I wanted to create something colorful and friendly since I consider this type of post more attractive to the audience. Each design was created by me from scratch using design programs such as Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.

My senior project consisted of creating 34 posts in total. Of these, 15 are learning posts. The main objective of these posts is to help students find new techniques/tips for their time at college as students. Moreover, I have created 15 daily motivational quotes. The main objective of these motivational quotes is to encourage students to start their day with uplifting quotes that can help them have a positive mindset during the day. Finally, I have created four reels. Each one of them tells a unique and different story about the BYU-I McKay Library resources.

Moreover, each post contains captions that offer extra information on the topic related to the post (Instagram posts). However, for the reels, most of the information is attached to the video since most audiences don’t take the time to read a caption while they are watching a video.
