Brand Research & Analysis: Cambodian Food Exports. By Grace Shirley.
My project was to do brand research and analysis on Cambodian Food Exports to the United States. TCambodia is interested in becoming a larger player in the global market, and wants to increase exports to the United States. Four major food products are currently ready for export, but have no brand or label to be sold under. Currently, many raw Cambodian imports are being sold to larger labels such as Kirkland and are being sold at Costco, but the end goal is to have an independent label. The Cambodian government wants to start with a soft launch in Long Beach, California where there is the largest population of Cambodians outside of Cambodia. The Cambodian diaspora in the United States is eager to support this project and directly support Cambodian farmers. My project was to conduct the research necessary to launch these products, and use that research to present ideas to a marketing team for a successful launch in the United States.
My project is in three parts: Research and Analysis, Brand Identity, and Awareness. I created a booklet to give to my client who works in international shipping and marketing. The booklet acts as a proposal and provides research-backed ideas for brand development for these Cambodian exports.
This was an exciting project for me as I am passionate about international relations and research and development. I hope to present this information to my clients and I hope that it can be beneficial to them as they move forward with this project.
