The Inside Scoop of Creamy Daze

by Lindsey Whatcott

While most people have heard of Blue Bell Ice Cream, not everyone in Rexburg has heard about Creamy Daze. In this project, I was able to find the best way to connect this new business in Rexburg within the community. In this day in age, it’s easy to jump into social media because it’s fun and creates an online presence for the brand. However, through analysis, I found that as Creamy Daze is still new, it would be more beneficial in the long run to connect to the target audience in the community. My next step was to contact the Rexburg Chamber of Commence to find any upcoming events. This lead me to create a mockup food vendor for the annual Experience Rexburg that happens every fall.

The mockup consist not only selling ice cream, but creating an experience that would provide the members of the community to connect with the brand that’s more than just another business. It’s a brand that wants to be involved rather than have successful sells. For the vendor experience, I made a list of flavors that would be available as free samples like they would do in-store. To take a step further, people would then be able to vote for their favorite Blue Bell flavor on a card. This card would then serve as a raffle, participants could also write their name and number. If their name got pulled, they could get a free scoop of ice cream. This activity also opens doors for beyond the event for social media posts of the winner of the raffle, the top 3 most voted flavors and even a recap of the event. Another benefit would also include network possibilities with other businesses.

Overall, this project allows Creamy Daze to have solid plan to be a staple location in Rexburg. An event like Experience Rexburg, creates the opportunity to show they care about the community outside of the store.
