Gabe Alexander – Song and Music Video

The Project

I created a song and directed/produced a music video for it. The idea was to showcase my understanding of media production from an audio standpoint as well as a visual one. Although I don’t usually create music videos in my professional work, this was a good way to push my creative boundaries and test how well I could successfully realize an abstract concept. From songwriting to recording to mixing to storyboarding to producing to editing, this has been the most work I’ve ever put into one project. I hope you enjoy!

My booth consisted of a TV display to show the music video, visuals of the song-creation and storyboard, socks that were used as a prop in the video project, and a VHS tape with the video on it.

The song was recorded and mixed in Logic Pro X, using a number of different instruments and effects.

The set was created beforehand using 3D rendering software. This allowed us to test lighting setups and create an accurate storyboard of the video.
