Project Summary:
This senior project is in honor of my mother, Donna Kiesow, who passed away on January 24th, 2021. I created a website and Instagram page called ‘the butterfly kisses project’. The main goal of both platforms is to create a community of people that are going through their personal grieving journey. I have personally learned that no one should be alone through their grief. I believe this is a start of a beautiful project that I think I will be working on throughout my life. After posting two blogs on my website, I decided to focus on Instagram, since the traffic on my website was low.
I created many different posts on Instagram to dip my toes into the grieving community. I read children’s books that focus on the topic of loss and grief. As I shared my experience and the personal knowledge that I have about grief. I was able to really connect with my followers on Instagram. I also received private messages with many followers and we talked about our grief journey. The experience that I have gotten by doing this project is amazing and absolutely beautiful. This project is close to my heart and I hope you enjoy.
