Danielle Castro – Leadership Development Process

Danielle Castro | Visual Communication

My project was to create a leadership development process for a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Poway, California. I’ve worked at this Chick-fil-A for some years now and am going to continue working for them for the next few, so being able to create a project I can bring back to my job was a great experience.

For every leadership role in the restaurant I created a series of assessment evaluations, training checklists, coaching questions resources and performance evaluations in order to make a clear path for development in the restaurant for leaders. The restaurant has had a loose plan for development, but creating a clear plan was to make the process simple to understand by the leaders and leaders interested in growing in the restaurant.

Here’s a look into the documents I created that ultimately compiled into a binder of all of them. I created a physical binder that will be kept in the office of the restaurant. These documents are created in Microsoft Word for universal use and editing if necessary and I brought in some icons I created myself using Adobe Illustrator.

My biggest takeaway from this project was my realization of the power that writing has in communication. My goal with these documents was to create something that is easily understandable for everyone about a process that sometimes can be overthought. It’s an important process but can be funneled through these stages to help make the process a little more clear.

I hope that these documents can inspire other leadership teams to see what having a process can do for their teams and developing others to be leaders as well.

Here’s a short overview video of my project!
