Seth Ratliff – Fear Not (Parody Short Film)

Seth Ratliff

Video Production

Project Summary

For my project I wanted to show my skills as a cinematographer and producer. I wanted to do something creative that I haven’t seen done at BYU-I. I ‘m very passionate about writing and superheroes. So I wanted to plan something that involved my passions. I chose to write an entire thirty-minute short film based off the Netflix series of Daredevil.

I didn’t have time to produce the entire film but I wanted to shoot the most complicated part in order to show proof of concept. The scene I chose was the fight sequence I wrote based off of season 1 episode 2 of daredevil. I wrote the original scene, blocked it with a fight choreographer int eh theater department, then did the make up with the help form another friend in the theater program. I had two actors audition who had some experience with martial arts then I shot the scene.

Presentation

Short Film: Fear Not(A Daredevil Parody)

Time Breakdown: 59 Hours

Most of my time was spent in the Pre-production and Post Production phase. I spent the most time planning out and practicing the actual fight sequence. Then I had to add individual sound effects to make the scene look and sound realistic.
