I had the opportunity to contribute to content creation for a pilot program designed to help families who are struggling with substance use issues. Having a passion for helping kids and their success in life, I was drawn to this project and the chance to make a difference in the lives of those impacted by substance abuse.
Through extensive research and investigation, I was able to identify the risk factors and challenges that these families face, including poverty, mental health issues, and an increased risk of suicide. Armed with this knowledge, I worked to create content that would help families navigate these challenges and improve their overall well-being.
One key aspect of my senior project involved attending various trainings and workshops to gain further insights into the needs of these families. I attended three different trainings, including one of coping with suicide, which provided valuable insights and strategies for supporting those at risk.
In addition to attending those trainings, I also had the opportunity to interview individuals who are involved in supporting families dealing with substance abuse issues. These conversations allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the unique challenges faced by these families and helped me to create tip cards that anyone can use to help families or individuals struggling with mental health or trauma.
Overall, my senior project was an incredibly rewarding experience, and I am proud to have contributed to a program that has the potential to make a real difference in the lives of those impacted by substance abuse. I hope that my work will continue to inspire others to get involved and make a positive impact in their communities as well.
