Renae Graves- Social Media Management/Content Creation for Moore Nail Biz

Renae Graves- Senior at Brigham Young University-Idaho studying Communications in Digital and Social Media

Hello there! Im Renae and my favorite thing to do is be creative! Whether that is physically or digitally, I am already interested! What a journey it has been to study here at Brigham Young University-Idaho for the past 4 years. Nothing but the best from professors to the lessons and lectures that they have been so gracious to share with students like me. I have been able to expand my skill set beyond what I ever thought was possible. As you will read below, you will see an example of how I was able to grow my knowledge with a small local brand and what insights were found by research and data in the current world of social media.

Project Summary

Moore Nail Biz is a small brand owned by Raegan Moore based out of Rigby, Idaho. Her main purpose is to help nail technicians learn how to grow their clientele by learning how to price their services, run their social media accounts, and how to run a business with a strategy. Below are the goals that we had in mind for this project…

Project Executions

Listed is what I was able to assist her with and deliver for her audience…

Quality research about her social media presence and her audience with the goals that she provided to me on what she is aiming for in the near future.

A full month (25 count) content calendar that includes carousels, reel photo covers, graphics, and photos that are ready to be posted.

Established brand colors and fonts

Insights and explanation of her audience insights on Instagram to help her understand how to understand the statistics and be able to relay that to her audience.

Designed Instagram highlight covers and assisted her in keeping those organized and up to date.

Keeping her saved audios up to date and adding sounds that are currently trending for her use.

Community outreach and engagement to better share her name and have others familiar with her new username and idea

Research on the idea of boosting posts and Instagram ads and how that can be beneficial for her brand and growing audience.

Project Outcomes

Through this process, Raegan was going through a refining of her audience. She started out as a nail technician wanting to grow her clientele but in the last few months has shifted to now teach others how to do the same. Her content has done a 180 turn from posting about her own clients to posting about how to begin the process of starting your own business as a nail technician.

I was able to assist her in this switch with content that shared the new Moore Nail Biz, instead of the Moore Nail Art. Here we can see that from the time I was brought on board, she has seen 131 new followers with 57 unfollows for a total of a 74-follower count. This is a 6.7% increase in followers which is a great success.

Another goal of Raegan’s was to get people to her website to sign up for master classes and to sign up for her newsletters and eBooks. We were able to see a 50.7% increase in external link taps from her bio which then led to an increase in her sign-ups for her classes and newsletters. In the two months that I have been working with her, we were able to get 150 link visits.

Although, there is always room for improvement. Some of the future goals going forward are to put more of a focus on reels and creating original content that the Instagram algorithm is favoring. Most of the focus these last few months were graphics and getting lots of information out to her audience about her new approach. But reels are so powerful and is what her audience is wanting more of.

When looking back at these last two months, I can confidently say that we achieved several goals that have been seen to benefit Moore Nail Biz and its growing audience. We are seeing an increase in audience that is excited and interested in learning more from Raegan and her experience and expertise from the nail tech world.
