I created a Social Media Campaign book for the Motel 6 in Idaho Falls, Rigby, and Rexburg, as well as Super 8 in Driggs. I worked at the Motel 6 here in Rexburg years ago, and one thing that I noticed could use improvement was their utilization of social media, specifically Facebook. A lot of guests debate between Motel 6, Quality Inn, and the Super 8 here in town when deciding where to stay, so why not make that decision easier for them?
I simplified my project over the course of the semester. I was originally going to create a 365 day social media calendar, but realized that would be contrary to the overall goal that I envisioned for the pages. Instead I created simplified guidelines of what to post and certain events to post about when the day get closer. Since I did not actually run the pages (that will be left up to the manager) I set easy to understand and simple to follow goals to get the pages running smoothly and without much effort.
At my booth I am displaying event centered social media posts for Motel 6 and Super 8. I am also displaying a tabletop ad that I designed in order to improve organic growth of the Facebook page for Motel 6 in Rexburg. My full physical book is on display as well as a pdf version on the television.
