Project Summary

For my Senior Project I wanted to do something that I was passionate about. I wanted to showcase my passion for journalism and what better way to do that than to write? Writing is all I have ever wanted to do. Since my father first gave me a laptop at twelve years old, I have made it a goal to write something every day. Every day since then I have written short story after short story in hopes that one day my short stories would inspire me to write a book.

As I got older, I realized that my passion for writing didn’t just have to be a dream. I could make it my reality. So, for my senior project I wrote another short story but it’s much more than another short story for me. It’s my story. I wrote about how I came to discover that I could make my passion a reality and how I chased after my dream with every fiber of my being. This was much more than a project for me. It was a trial. It was a test. I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. That I could share my writing with the world and more importantly share my story. A story I have been afraid to tell.

Along with writing my short story, I created a booklet on how to become a self-published author. I would very much like to become a published author one day. I may not be the next J.K Rowling, but a girl can dream right? I figured a good first step into the publication industry was to publish some of my work online. To get a sense of what others think about my writing. And to feel the range of emotions when you see your work online for the first time.

I hope that you can get a real sense for my passion of writing through this project!
